Hmmm, looking for a camera but you are not quite sure what to get? Let Hammacher do the thinking for you – the Cold War Camera brings you back to the heydays where there was more than just one superpower in the world.

This nifty little device is a wee bit larger compared to a pack of gum, tipping the scales at slightly over 2oz. which makes it a snap to fit into a myriad of places including a shirt pocket, up a sleeve, or in a boot. Don’t be fooled by its size though – it might have just 5-megapixels of shooting power, but it can capture images at 2560 x 1920 pixels and video at 320 x 240 pixels, alongside 4x digital zoom to keep you covert. All JPEG images and AVI videos are saved onto a microSD memory card, since the 128MB of internal memory can’t do much these days. Expect to fork out $189.95 for the Cold War Camera.

Handheld Video Inspection Camera

First we looked at the Cold War Camera earlier today, and now we have the Handheld Video Inspection Camera that might just be the video camera that you don’t know you need.

This is unique since it allows you to capture shots that were once deemed impossible, including video footage in a cramped, dark location. Thanks to a flexible video borescope with built-in adjustable dual LED light source, it is capable of illuminating objects in the dark crevices of where you want to shoot, alongside a flexible gooseneck that holds its shape while you film. This glare-free, high resolution camera is highly portable, and will cost you a good $99.99 to bring one home. Of course, it is powered by a quartet of AA batteries, so you might want to invest in a set of rechargeables if you are going to use this often.

Acadalus CPS-H1 self-leveling camera head

One of the most difficult problems about shooting pictures with a camera on a tripod is keeping the camera level.
Generally, the bubble level attachment is for that, or you could get the Acadalus CPS-H1.
The CPS-H1 is a self-leveling camera head with a built-in digital inclinometer, and it can automatically level the camera at the touch of a button. I’m guessing that the other buttons are for subtly adjusting the camera for artistic angles.

Pentax W90->Waterproof Digital Camera

Not everywhere that you take pictures is the safest environment out there. Especially for those of you that enjoy hiking or the even more dangerous, rock climbing. With either task you run the risk of dropping the camera in water or mud. Then there’s that whole accidentally dropping it off of a cliff. Still, having a camera in those conditions can get you some really cool pictures. Thankfully some gadgets were created to be able to handle anything we can. This Pentax is one of them, it may not like being dropped off of a cliff, but it could handle all of the water and mud that you dish out.
